Clean water empowers lives.

The Power of Clean Water connects young people to the global water crisis and empowers them to help. By providing the tools and the water projects in need of funding, we provide a clear path to making a difference in the world.

Why we’re jumping in

WATER IS A HUMAN RIGHT* AND YET:

  • One in 10 people around the world, or 784 million people do not have access to clean water.

  • 2.2 million people in the United States do not have access to clean water. 44 million more don’t have clean water that’s safe to drink.

  • One in four people (two billion) do not have access to a toilet.

  • Diarrheal diseases, caused primarily by unsafe water and poor sanitation, kill more children under 5 years old than malaria, AIDS, and measles combined.

  • Diarrheal disease kills one child every 60 seconds.

  • In sub-Saharan Africa, women and girls spend an estimated 40 billion hours a year collecting water.

*per the United Nations General Assembly’s recognition in 2010, access to water and sanitation is a human right. https://www.un.org/en/global-issues/water

The Power of Clean Water connects young people to the global water crisis and empowers them to make a difference.

We work with schools, clubs, sports teams, and other youth groups, providing the curriculum to raise awareness, tools to get involved, and access to water projects around the world and here in the U.S. in need of support. Power of Clean Water provides a clear path for students to change the world.

By providing the tools and the water projects in need of funding, we provide a clear path to making a difference in the world.
